It's time to be a Fly on the Wall! This is something that Karen from Baking In A Tornado thought up. Basically, bloggers get together and give little snippets of their lives that wouldn't normally be "blog" worthy.
Some of my snippets are going to be from previous blogs, but...well.....I'm allowed to do that, so there! lol
~ Monday, we went to court to FINALLY put an end to this long, 20 month long battle for my husband to adopt Boy and Girl Child. At first, we didn't think we were going to get to the adoption part, because the judge said she was going to do the termination of parental rights first, but I guess she had a change of heart. The adoption is done, it is final and my husband is now legally the father of Boy and Girl Child. YAY!!
~ Wednesday was mine and the husband's anniversary. We've been married for 5 years now. 5! I can't believe it! It feels like we've been married for 50 years sometimes. Sometimes, it doesn't feel like it's been 5 years yet. Here's to 5 more years!
~ Girl Child tried out for choir on the 13th. She said she was suppose to find out on Friday if she made it. I pulled her out of school early on Monday, for court and, by then, she still hadn't heard anything, so she assumed she hadn't made it and decided to stay after on Tuesday to try out for cheer and the basketball team. I was sitting here, being lazy and waiting until 5 to get them when my phone rings at 4:30. It's the music teacher letting me know that Girl Child was suppose to be picked up at 4:15, when rehearsals were over. Evidently, Girl Child made choir. She was quite pleased.
~ We have a very nasty habit of referring to chicken as cock in our house. I think it's something silly that my husband started saying and it just kind of stuck. We had fried chicken the other night for dinner and I jokingly said "I know how to handle the cock!" after it was declared a good dinner. Later in the evening, my husband said something to the effect of "When I met your mother, she was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar" (we also have a habit of telling the kids a story of how we met using various 80's song lyrics.........). Boy Child looked at me and said "So THAT'S why you know how to handle cock so well....." Yea, we won't be using that reference anymore.......
~ Lil Bit has decided that she does NOT want to do ballet now. She doesn't want to do anything except sit around and play. *shrug* Okay then!
~ I, somehow, managed to get my husband into watching True Blood. Not sure how, but I'm happy I did. We find ourselves sitting up, watching True Blood quite a bit now. Even though I've seen every episode, I gladly watch with him. The other night, though, I fell asleep during it and was sleeping so hard, I didn't know my husband snapped a pic.......

~ I don't know about you guys, but I'm SO ready for fall! I can't wait to go buy me a hoodie that is about 3 sizes too big so I can lounge around in it and my PJ pants with some hot chocolate and the scents of fall permeating through my house. EEEP!!!
Okay, that's all I have right now! Go buzz around someone else, will ya?

I love these glimpses into your life, but nothing is more heartwarming than to know that you all FINALLY have the same last name. So excited for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's positively AMAZING.
DeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy that it is finally all taken care of!!!! YAY!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Me too. (Are you my visitor from Knoxville?)
DeleteTwinners! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Congratulations on solidifying your family unit. I bet your children are ecstatic. Congrats also on your anniversary; I hope you have many many more years together. Not bad for a couple who started out via "The Human League". Don't you want me baby? Hahahaha <3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Twinnie! We once went through this whole schpeel about how we met, using ONLY 80's song lyrics. It was HILARIOUS.
DeleteWhat an EXCEPTIONAL week you have had!!! I am SO HAPPY the adoption went through. Y'all are such a blessed family. I truly hope we can meet one day! XO
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too!!

DeleteThat is exciting about the adoption!I usually hate fall but I am tired of this 105 degree crap
ReplyDeleteI LOVE fall and spring. My favorite holidays. Don't like heat and don't like cold. haha
DeleteCongratulations on the anniversary and the adoption!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be walking on air! I'm so happy for you all!
I'm already bad for living in my yoga pants so adding an over sized sweatshirt is just a great freaking time. :)
I am! Cloud 9 all the way!
DeleteCongrats on 5 years and the adoption. That is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteLove you sleeping with the cow. LOL
What great news you had to share this time! Congrats all around.
ReplyDeleteI'd be really happy about your daughter getting into choir too; it'll be so much fun for her (and you) and...unlike cheer and basketball, it's pretty hard to get injured singing!
