Spring.
It's right around the corner. At least, I hope it is.
You see, we've been plagued by this horrible white crap that keeps falling from the sky.
It's cold, it's wet and, frankly, I HATE IT.
Yes, Kentucky isn't use to being hit with a lot of snow. Then, BAM, we get hit with 12 inches. A couple of days later, we got hit with about 6 more. My kids went to school February 13. They didn't go back until March 3. They got to go then and the 4th, then......you guessed it. MORE SNOW. So here they sit, two more days of no learning, no seeing their friends. Boredom. It's too cold to send them outside, so they are stuck in here, with me, creating new ways to drive me nuts.
Spring (and Fall) is my favorite season. It's rebirth, it's renewing of everything. I absolutely love it. More than that, it's COMFORTABLE weather. I don't like cold. To be fair, I don't like hot either. I like comfortable. 70's with a warm breeze in the air. That's perfect for me.
What always clues me in that Winter is making it's way out the door and Spring is coming in? Well, that would be what I've always called Easter Lilies, but really, they are Daffodils. When they start to bloom, I know it's Spring is coming. Also, honeysuckle. I absolutely love the smell of honeysuckle. There is nothing better than being able to open the doors and windows, letting that fresh Spring air in and just smelling the wonderfulness it brings.
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for Spring............
Please hurry!
It's that time of the month again! Secret Subject Swaps are my favorite, because the challenge us. This month, my prompt was "What is the one thing that lets you know spring has arrived? OR How do you get through the final weeks of winter." and it came from Southern Belle Charm. Thanks!!
As usual, there are so many amazing people joining me today, so please take a peak at what they have to say!

I saw some daffodils trying to poke through the ground in a flower bed last week. I may have looked like a fool, but I seriously cheered them on for a little while!! Can't winter just be over?!?!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!! That's a lot of snow for that area!!! Good grief!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a little snow but a lot of ice, freezing rain and sleet! I love the snow but I could do without the rest!!!
Holy Snow Days Batman! I'm so sorry. It seems this year has been a horrible winter. I hope your Spring arrives quickly! Great post!
ReplyDeleteYikes, glad I'm in SW Florida and don't have the snow! Love daffodils
ReplyDeleteSNOW has become my new four letter word! I hate it...so glad spring is finally coming. Starting tomorrow we are going to have warmer weather...WOOOOHOOO
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get as much snow as other parts of the country, but we got bone-chilling cold and whipping winds. I cannot wait for spring either!
ReplyDeleteYep I'm ready for sunshine and green grass any time now! ☀
ReplyDeleteIt seems everyone East of us is getting hammered with snow and we're sitting here like, we're not here. You can't see us, Winter! Shhh. Don't tell.
ReplyDeleteSpring is my favorite, too. Not too hot, not too cold, plus rain is one of my favorite things. ;)
The other day you posted a "how well do you know me" quiz, I don't remember many questions, and I have no clue if you prefer Coke over Pepsi, but one was "summer or winter" and I exclaimed NEITHER, she hates the cold, and she hates the hot, too!! So that's that ;-)
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping that Easter Lilies and Honeysuckles hurry up and make an appearance soon!
Our weather has been so crazy, one day snow or ice and two days later it's in the 60s and 70s. And on last Thursday we had both in one day! I love fall as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree, daffodils are the one of the first signs of spring (at least here in KC). I'm like you also, give me Spring and give me Fall, but I could live without the other two seasons. But then of course, I may not appreciate the milder seasons as much. . . but I'm willing to give it a try.
