This Lux Life

In my limited time on this planet, I knew there were a few things I was supposed to avoid.

It was not in my nature to avoid these things.

I was curious, you see. Curious about the world around me. I wanted to know what made it turn.

What made the trees' leaves turn color and fall?

What made the sky blue, especially over the ocean?

How did those goats manage to climb the mountains without falling off?

Every single day was like a new quest. There was a new experience to be had, a new adventure. One day, I was lounging on the sand by the water, the next I was in a jungle. I never knew what the day would bring, just that it wouldn't be boring.

I tried my best to blossom, not only in how I lived my life but in my education. I wanted to learn about the plains in Africa, the mountains in Japan, the tundras of Alaska. I wanted to do trigonometry or physics. I wanted to write a novel.

I tried to learn a new language.

I butchered it.

I tried to build furniture.

I couldn't get the wooden pieces to cooperate.

Through it all, however, I lived and I learned and I loved. I have no regrets. I lived a full life and I enjoyed every minute. I looked around and saw my friends and family and felt calm.

Happy.

Peaceful.

Living this lux life in the zoo with the rest of the penguins is the life to live!

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.

My words were "wooden ~ butcher ~ limited ~ penguins ~ quest ~ blossom" and they were submitted by my friend Tamara from Part-timeWorking Hockey Mom. Thanks for the great words!

  5. If you put 1000 penguins in a room with 1000 typewriters, would they eventually type out the entire collection of Shakespeare. Asking for a friend . . .
