Count Your Words: Tips From A Call Center Employee

When calling a call center, make sure you speak clearly and slowly. Cut down on the background noise and do not get upset when the rep asks you to repeat something, especially if you are in a noisy area. Remember, the rep is just answering the phone, they are not the person who wronged you. Be nice…you don’t know what they are dealing with.

Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: contributing bloggers each picked a number between 12 and 74. The submitted numbers were then assigned to other bloggers challenged with writing at least one piece using that exact number of words.

I was assigned the word count number: 64

  1. Words of wisdom. I worked at a call center for a short time. Hated it. Lots of really nice people called in, then there were way too many of the opposite.

  2. My bff husband works at a call center. Oooh what he deals with daily is rough.

  3. I always try to be nice. A few months ago I had to call SS because my mother had died and I was given to the rudest person I have ever met. He was intentionally rude and then basically dared me to do anything about it. (Rena)
