I know you guys are accustomed to my using the UYW posts for funny little twists.
I decided to be real this time.
On March 10, 2020, I will be going under the knife and having a complete hysterectomy.
Since probably 2014, I've had issues relating to my...um...lady bits. Last year, however, the pain magnified and I went to the ER. It was diagnosed at that time that I had an uterine fibroid. It was causing a LOT of pain.
In the matter of 6 months, it grew.
I FINALLY was able to get into the doctor and they did a biopsy. At that point, it was determined I have hyperplasia.
On 1/29, I went to the doctor to schedule my treatment. I was shocked when they said they were referring me to an oncologist. I immediately thought the worst.
2/13, I went to the oncologist and scheduled the date for my surgery. It will take place AFTER my cruise. Oh...and we are moving to a new home. I will be recovering 6-8 weeks. This won't be a bowl full of cherries for sure!
So what will I do?
Well, I'll have a bigger home, so I plan to hang out in my room in a fluffy towel a lot. Wearing pants will hurt.
If I had a way to do it, I'd make laser-guided wood decor. You know...like signs and stuff like that. But I DON'T have the tools, nor the know how.
I'm going to watch the mailbox to see if I get any goodies.
I'm going to TRY to at least cook dinner so my husband isn't swamped with working and taking care of the me and the house.
Finally, I'm going to kick up my feet and watch all the TV...including Wheel of Fortune!
Have any of you gone through this? Got any tips?
Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
My words were "A bowl of cherries ~ fluffy towel ~ laser-guided ~ mailbox ~ swamped ~ wheel of fortune" and they were submitted by my fabulous friend Tamara from Part-timeWorking Hockey Mom.

I haven't had that surgery but I've had a similar surgical wound. I hope you recover as quickly as I did. And I'm glad this is finally being addressed and you won't have to deal with it any more.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have used my words for a more joyful occasion, but hey, it is what it is. Glad you're taking care of things. This too, will pass. Maybe you'll get a chance to do more blogging while you recover?
ReplyDeleteFirst things first, though: have tons of fun and enjoy your cruise!
I have been through this and follow the doctors orders. rest, no heavy lifting and no sweeping, mopping or vacuuming. My dr said it was the worst thing a woman could do. SO...tell hubby to take care of you. Prayers for a safe and successful surgery, quick and full recovery.
