Flying Around

Okay, you all know the drill by now, right?
It's my 3rd Friday post of the month, which can only mean one thing. It's time to be a fly on my wall. You know you look forward to this post, so stop acting like reading it is a chore. lol
I have a lot to share, so grab you a cup of coffee and get comfy.

*Since Lil Bit was born, The Hubs and I have not had a night alone, because while Boy and Girl Child stay the night with friends and family, Lil Bit stays home. Well, she decided SHE was big enough to stay too, so she got brave and spent the night with my Dad and stepmom. All three kids were gone. You'd think party time, right? WRONG! We watched TV and were in bed by 10:30. At one point, this was our night.
No kids? Alright! Part....zzzzzz

*Okay, obviously, this is a very serious situation. However, GMA basically turned it into a joke, unintentionally, with the way they worded the headline.
The Zombie Apocalypse has hit Paris and they are armed!

*Back in September, Lil Bit got two goldfish because she lost her first tooth. Believe it or not, they are still alive. We haven't had to replace them or anything. She takes really good care of them, makes sure they are fed and the tank is cleaned. We are getting her a bigger tank in a few weeks.
Joy and Oh....not sure who is who...

*It's a cold morning. The Hubs gets up to go to the bathroom, like we old folks do. Ella, deciding she is cold (she sleeps in the bed with us), gets up, gets under the blanket and totally jacks his spot. She was quite miffed when he made her move.
Ella is cozy....

*Lil Bit got some games for Christmas; Candyland, Pieface and Minions Trouble. This kid, this sweet child of mine, turns into a freaking card shark when she plays! She trash talks and cheats and...it just gets ugly. It's hilarious, but terrifying at the same time.
Lil Bit takes her Candyland serious!

*It was unseasonably warm late last month, early this month. Like, at one point, I had my air one warm. Guys, I live in Kentucky. This isn't supposed to happen. But I loved that weather. Sadly...now.....it's freezing and I am currently wearing a jacket inside my house.
The temp in my area a couple of weeks ago.

*We were having a lazy day, just lounging around the house, doing nothing and being sloth-like. Lil Bit decided to come cuddle with me and fell asleep. Pi then decided he wanted to cuddle, so he laid next to Lil Bit and stretched out. After that, Ella came over to sleep too. So we had all 4 of us on the couch. If Kitty G wasn't anti-social, he would have been there too.
Let's all take a nap!

*We had an ugly Christmas attire party. It was a blast. Here's our ugly attire!

*Star Wars fever has swept through my house (I took an antibiotic, so I'm immune) and all three kids have caught it. They all have a Star Wars shirt. Here is Lil Bit's.
No, YODA best!

*Pie. Face.
I'm the only one that didn't get Piefaced.

Okay, that's all I have. Wanna buzz off and see what my friends have for you?

Praise Be To The Lord Of The Flies

Welcome to a Fly on the Wall group post. Today 12 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house.

Buzz around, see what you think, then click on the links at the end of this post for a peek into some other homes!

*A cursed bug has decided to make it's way through our house this week. It started with Girl Child, then it hit me. Now it is attacking both The Hubs and Lil Bit. So far, Boy Child hasn't gotten it, but we will see what happens.
I hate stomach bugs!

*Speaking of Boy Child, I mentioned last month that he started soccer this year. He had his first game on Saturday. I was so proud!! He did awesome and his team won 3-1!
It's a touchdown! Oh..wait..I mean GOAL!

*It's suppose to be Spring, right (more on that later). Naturally, when the warm weather hit (for all of 3 seconds..again, more on that later), we fired up the grill and did us a happy dance! This is what we had one day...
Oh yea....

And another day....
Mmmm....steak!
Yum, right?

*Kentucky made it to the final game of the NCAA championship (I hate basketball, so I don't know the proper name for this....). They lost. I live in Kentucky, so I had some fun with all my friends who were disappointed. This picture was shared and an argument started because the guy said I didn't make it (I totally did!)
Almost had it....

*We went to my niece's birthday party at a skating ring and I got a picture of my kids and her together. I compared it to a picture I took almost 4 years ago....
My how they grow!
My how they've grown!!

*So, the coolest thing happened. If you are a reader of this blog, you know that one of my friends, Marcia from the Menopausal Mother is someone who's life I love reading about. Her family is the coolest! Well, she went to a writing convention in Dayton, Oh and just happened to stop in the town just south of me here in Kentucky. The next morning, we met! She's the first person I've met from the blogging world. How cool is that?!

me (r) and Marcia from Menopausal Mother!

*Remember how, up there, I talked about the weather? Yea.....this can only be talked about using pictures.
Enjoy!
Yea, our forecast....

Oh Yum! Poop!

Did you guys miss me last month for "Fly on the Wall?" I'm sorry I wasn't around, but I was buzzing my little heart out at the Hanson concert. Oh, the life a fly!! But I'm back and I'm hoping to provide you with some laughs!

Let's not waste any time and jump right in to the fun, shall we?

*We decided to give Boy Child a War Head to see how he would handle it. Of COURSE I was equipped with my camera to catch the hilarity. Oh, it was so fun to watch the faces he would make. But he handled it like a champ! Here's one picture.
Ever had something so sour, you turn into a Velociraptor?

*Halloween came and went and my crew wracked up! Lil Bit has this horrible, nasty habit of sneaking candy, knowing she isn't allowed to have anymore. One day, she had so much that she either passed out or fell into a sugar coma. I was watching TV with her while she was laying in the floor (she dragged a blanket from my room into the living room to lay on). Next thing I know...she's passed out!
No....I'm not as think as you sugar high I am!

*I'm not entirely sure why, but Boy Child has this horrible habit of sleeping with his toys in a pile on his bed. It's usually his most treasured items. So I wasn't surprised when I went into his room and found this:
If there is ever a snatching of toys, these guys are safe.
That's every Skylander character he owns, plus his big Transformers toys. It looks horribly uncomfortable.
In this mess, however....love was found. I'd like to say congrats to the Green Ranger and Megatron on meeting and finding romance.
True love!

*My favorite spoon has gone missing. It was my pasta spoon. That thing was versatile and made an AWESOME back scratcher. I'm not entirely sure WHERE it disappeared to, but it's gone and that made me sad. So I went to Dollar Tree one day and I found me a new one. I was entirely too happy to have this device......
Welcome home, baby!

*The hubs and I were in Walmart with Lil Bit when she let out this squeal. She goes "MOMMY!! DADDY!! LOOK AT THOSE JAMMIES! THEY HAVE A TUTU!!!!!!!!!". So we look and, lo and be hold, there are some Princess jammies that make the wearer look like they are a ballerina and it comes with a tutu. Naturally, we had to buy them. She's insisted on wearing them every day since.
She loves ballerina stuff....doesn't want to take ballet.

*I wanted some new pictures of my kids, but I'm cheap and didn't want to pay anyone. So, I didn't....I took them myself, then edited them. I'm not a professional by any means, but I think I did a decent job.
Girl Child, Boy Child, and Lil Bit

*Girl Child was surprisingly un-embarrassing these past few weeks. But she DID make it into her school spelling bee, so I'm really proud of her for that. She was one of 16 kids and, though she was out in the first round, she worked hard.

*Finally, I'd like to take a moment and say congrats to my Momma. While she was here in July, she told me that she wanted to lose weight. I gave her some ideas (that I should really practice myself), like walking around Winn Dixie. She went home and utilized these ideas and since has lost a staggering 46lbs! Congrats Momma! You've inspired me to make the changes I need to to lose weight. Though I'm starting after the holidays, I hope the next time we see each other, we'll both be thinner and, more importantly, healthier. Love ya mama!!
Look at my skinnier mama!!!

Okay, I'm gonna go buzz around and see what else I can find!

Just Sitting Here, Watching You Eat

It's time to be a Fly on the Wall. This is a fun little link up that the FABULOUS Miss Karen from Baking In A Tornado thought up. Basically, you'll get to catch little glimpses into the lives of myself and 14 other bloggers (you can find links to those blogs at the end of this one).

Tales of the Boy Child:

*Excitedly, my 9 year old son got in the van the other day and declared "Mom....someone likes me!"
"Sure, kiddo....lots of people like you. You're a great kid!"
"No Mom.....a GIRL likes me. Like, she LIKE likes me."
"Ohhhh......do you like her?"
"Yup"
"So ask her out"
"I will. I just gotta work on my game...."

*I'm sitting on the couch with the husband. It's WELL after bed time. He and I are watching Orange Is The New Black on Netflix. I keep hearing talking, so I get up and peek into my son's room.
"Are you in here talking?"
"Uh.....yea....."
"Why?"
"I'm practicing asking M for her phone number"
~sigh~
"Go to sleep!"

*While on our way to the library today, the hubs and I start talking about the Boy Child
Hubs: "His room is starting to smell...."
Me: "OMG I know! It's not, like, a dirty smell though."
Hubs: "No, that's the musk of a boy becoming a man."
Me: "Ugh! He's only 9 though!"
Hubs: "It's time. He's gonna have to stop using Avengers body wash and start using manly body wash and wear deodorant."
Me : "That's gonna break his heart...."
Hubs: "How do you think I feel that I can't use the Avengers body wash?!"

School is in full swing. He HATES the amount of homework he has, now that he's in the 4th grade. But he says he loves school and he's going to really buckle down and do better.

The Trials of a Tween Drama Queen:

*It's maybe the first or second day of the school year and my Tween Queen gets in the car, her little face somewhat full of hope.
"Mommy.....I asked C if he'd be my boyfriend"
"Yea? What'd he say?"
"He said 'Maybe'"
"Maybe?"
"Yea....that's not a yes, but it's not a no, so I figure I'm good."

*She brings home a form that I have to take the the DR so she can get a sports physical....
"I hope I don't have to see the DR again."
"You don't. I called, he said he'd just switch everything over from your regular physical."
"Okay, good. Hey Mommy?"
"Yea?"
"Do you think I can try out before try outs to be the leader of the cheer leaders?"
~Crickets and blank stare~

*We are driving somewhere. I don't remember where. We are having a conversation about growing up and careers and all that.
Me: "You're really smart and I know that you will and can do anything you want to do, if you put your mind to it.
Her: "Yea, I have a few ideas. What do you think I should be when I grow up?"
Me: "Well, what are you thinking?"
Her: "I don't know...either a doctor, a dentist, or the cashier at Wal-Mart."
Me: "Ummm....I'd aim for something a little higher than a cashier at Wal-Mart...."
Her: "Yea....hmmm. Which pays more? Being a doctor or a dentist? 'Cause I want to make a LOT of money!"

Being the overachiever that she is, she is absolutely LOVING being back in school.

The Woes of a Prima Ballerina:

*Being the youngest is never easy. Especially when your older siblings are starting to want to do their own thing.....
Her: Mommy! Anastasia and Sebastian won't play with me!
Me: Why not?"
Her: 'Cause they are a big jerk!

*After spilling juice ALL over the floor in an attempt to be sneaky........
Me: How many times do I have to tell you that you can't make your own juice?!
Her: BUT MOMMY I THRISTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: You JUST had a glass of juice.
Her: BUT I DRINKED IT ALL!
Me: Who's fault is that?
Her: Yours!

*Driving home from school, I called her Babydoll......

Her: Why do people call me Babydoll?
Me: Because, that's just a nice name to call you.
Her: But I not a doll.
Me: No, no you're not.
Her: I want to be called BuggiePie
Me: But you're not a bug or a pie.
Her: So, it's funny and I want to be BuggiePie.

On the way to get the Boy and Girl child from school, I got a driving lesson from my almost (on Sunday!) 4 year old. She knows traffic rules better than most adults.

A Tale of Two People in Love:

*It's Tuesday. The kids are at school, so we take advantage of the chance to go to the library and enjoy.
Me: OMG, it's so quiet and peaceful here!
Him: I know. I think I dozed off for a second.
Me: I SERIOUSLY considered it, but wasn't sure if the ridicule of sleeping in public would be worth it.

*My husband likes to wait until I get up in the middle of night to use the bathroom to pretend sleep and make life harder on me.
Me: WHY the crap do you cocoon yourself in the blanket and hike your leg up on my side when I go to the bathroom?
Him *trying to appear innocent*: Me? I'd never do that!
Me: Yea....you would. I slap your leg, but you just won't wake up or move.
Him: Oh, I'm TOTALLY awake....I just want to see how annoyed you'd get.

*Evidently, I make strange noises in my sleep.
Him: Seriously, sometimes, I fear for my life.
Me: Why?
Him: Because of the sounds that are coming from you in the middle of the night....
Me: Pffft....I so don't make any sounds.
Him: Between the fart, grunting and random terrifying moaning sounds....
Me: What would you like me to do about it? I can't control that...
Him: Have you looked into having an exorcism?

There ya go! You've seen little pieces of my life. Now buzz off and see what's going on somewhere else!
