I don't think I'm like most women.
I have a HUGE foot. Like, I wear a size 11 wide in women's.
And honestly, even THAT isn't big enough. I usually poke a hole in it with my pinky toe, no matter how short my toenails are.
My feet are massive.
I got tired of having to buy new shoes every 6 months, because I'm picky and only like New Balance shoes. But, when I lived in Florida, finding a New Balance in my size was hard.
One day, I went to DSW, because I needed a new pair of shoes in the worse way. I couldn't find any in women's that fit me, so I figured I would look in men's.
And I saw them.
A pair of men's New Balance that wasn't ugly.
They didn't look masculine.
I snatched them up.
That was in probably 2017, maybe 2018.
I still have them today. They are literally the only pair of shoes I own, aside from my slippers. That's it...sneakers and slippers, one of each. I don't have any dress shoes, I don't have sandals.
Evidently, I'm a freak of nature because of this. lol
I was very happy I had those comfortable shoes this weekend because we went to a concert and ate like crap and I caught a case of edema...my feet and hands swelled up so much!!
But alas, I might have to find me a new pair. I noticed my beloved shoes are pretty worn down.
That makes me sad...
This random post was brought to you by Use Your Words, a monthly writing challenge. My words were "edema ~ masculine ~ ugly ~ massive" and they were submitted by The Diary of an Alzheimer’s Caregiver. I had a busy couple of weeks, so I figured, here's a little random thought. lol Check out what my friends have for you by clicking the links below!
In Florida, I would have just gone barefoot most of the time, and gotten some men's flip flops for going out. Now, you better start searching DSW, at least you know a brand you like and a store that carries them. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI hate buying shoes and I don't go out very often and I beat you by one. I have a pair of flipflops that I bet I've had for a decade hahaha! I wear an 81/2 but my mom always wore an 11W.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of New Balance shoes but I looked them up. They sure look comfy.
ReplyDeleteYour size 11 seems to be a 44 in Europe, and there are five styles of sneakers available on the Swiss website.
I am the other way round. Sometimes I can find a bargain in the children's department.
