Basically, the heat makes people rude.
They post up on the banks of beaches, rivers and lakes, polluting the area with their trash and sunscreen. At night, hey build fires with flames that leap high in the sky. They sit around the fire and tell stories of ghosts lost in the swamps, ghouls rising from the depths of the ground.
We’ve had people who won the lottery come out with their massive boats, polluting the waters with their fumes.
It’s sickening.
It doesn’t just happen in Florida. No it happens all over the place…Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama…anywhere people can get to the water.
So I’m going to do what any smart people would do and reverse snowbird.
While the people flock to the south, I’m heading north.
So when you read reports about an alligator swimming in one of the Great Lakes…mind ya business!
Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
My words were “ lottery ~ Florida ~ alligator ~ solstice ~ flame ~ ghost” and they were submitted by Climaxed. Thanks for the fun prompts!

I find it so absurd that the people who claim to enjoy the waterways (and surrounding areas) the most, are the ones destroying them. Are you really heading north?
ReplyDeleteCome up here! Edmonton summers are awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteOur goal is to move north when hubby retires, but you're right it's everywhere. We are constantly picking up people's litter at parks and such. Makes me crazy.
